Promotions at Media Expert rely mainly on three mechanisms: the price with code, 0% installments and periodic discount campaigns. Understanding how they work lets you quickly judge whether an offer is a real deal or just looks impressive on the listing.

1

Price with code

The price with code is a lower price tied to a specific product, applied automatically once you add it to the cart. The code has an expiry, often given down to the day and hour. Importantly, the listing may show the amount before the code, and you will only see the actual price in the cart. So always verify the final amount to pay before buying.

Important

If you want to be sure about the price, add the product to the cart and check the summary. That is the simplest way to confirm the code was applied.

2

Lowest price in the 30 days before the discount

Under the rules (the Omnibus directive), when applying a discount the store shows the product’s lowest price from the 30 days before the promotion. This is a very useful reference: if the code price is clearly lower than that value, the discount is real. If the difference is minimal, the “promotion” may be mostly a marketing move.

3

0% installments - when they are worth it

0% installments let you spread the cost of a more expensive purchase with no extra fees, as long as you keep to the repayment schedule. The maximum number of 0% instalments is shown next to the product price, and financing is handled by partner banks. Installments make sense when you do not want to hit your budget all at once, but always check the contract terms, the date of the first instalment and whether the promotional price also applies when buying in instalments.

4

How to tell if it is really a deal

  • Compare the code price with the lowest price in the 30 days before the discount.
  • Check the same or a similar specification in other stores.
  • Note whether the discount applies to your chosen version (colour, memory, size).
  • For a 0% instalment, calculate the total cost and check that the promotional price still applies.
  • Factor in the delivery cost or the option of free in-store pickup.
5

When the biggest promotions appear

Most deals appear during seasonal campaigns, sales and events like Black Friday, but code prices apply all year and change dynamically. If you are planning a bigger purchase, it is worth watching a specific product for a few days and comparing prices before you decide to buy.
